Surveyor – Laboratory Medical Technologist
Join the Joint Commission as a Surveyor – Laboratory Medical Technologist. This role allows you to work from anywhere in the United States. The Surveyor evaluates laboratory programs nationwide, applying systems analysis and inductive reasoning to assess compliance with healthcare standards. You will prepare management reports linking deficiencies to potential system vulnerabilities, communicate findings constructively, and participate in other Joint Commission activities as directed by your supervisor.
Qualifications- Registered Medical Technologist with a master’s degree in a health‑related field.
- Must hold a CPHQ certification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) through NAHQ at hire or obtain it by 12/31/28.
- At least five years of recent experience, including 3 years of direct clinical work and 2 years of accreditation or certification leadership.
- Experience in three or more technical areas, strong customer service skills, and a leadership role in regulatory and safety committees.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and experience conducting at least two Joint Commission surveys preferred.
- Experience in a large point‑of‑care setting, and experience in sales or teaching highly desirable.
- Observe procedures in real‑time without interruption.
- Stand for long periods, walk extensive distances, lift, climb, stoop, pull, and push to inspect facilities and equipment.
- Travel frequently, including driving to remote locations, flying on small aircraft, and operating in all weather conditions.
All positions require 100% nationwide travel. Part‑time candidates must be available for two weeks per month (0.48 FTE). Full‑time options (0.70 FTE and 1.0 FTE) are also available.
SalaryUSD $ per year (both minimum and maximum).
