Known for its unique and community-focused approach—including animal-assisted therapy and rural outreach—the practice has expanded its reach to serve clients via secure telehealth platforms, helping bridge access gaps across Iowa.

We are seeking a full-time, remote Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality, virtual psychiatric care to individuals who may not otherwise have access to mental health services—especially in underserved or rural areas.

Position Summary

This position is 100% telehealth and offers the flexibility of remote work while making a meaningful impact in the lives of clients across Iowa. You’ll provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care to a diverse population with a wide range of mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and routine follow-up appointments via a secure telehealth platform
• Diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe/manage medications accordingly
• Provide education and counseling related to medication adherence and symptom management
• Coordinate care with Calamity Rose Ranch’s therapy team and other providers as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Uphold client confidentiality and professional standards in all virtual interactions

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
• At least 1–2 years of experience in psychiatric care (telehealth experience a plus)
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote role
• Strong interpersonal and technology skills
• Reliable internet connection and secure, private workspace for virtual appointments
• Passion for serving rural and underserved communities in Iowa
