Overview
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Laboratory Billing Specialist to work full‑time days in Norfolk, VA. The role involves assignment, completion, and audit of daily pathology, cytology, and flow cytometry billing processes to ensure revenue capture and manage financial issues with billing, insurance, and corporate finance departments. The specialist serves as liaison to pathology groups and handles reconciliation, corrections, and payment of department invoices.
Location& Shift
Norfolk, VA – First (Days) Shift
Responsibilities- Assign, complete, and audit pathology, cytology, and flow cytometry billing processes.
- Ensure revenue capture for all pathology procedures performed.
- Manage pathology financial issues involving billing, insurance, and corporate finance departments.
- Reconcile, correct, and pay all department invoices.
- Serve as department liaison to pathology groups.
- High School diploma (required)

Located in Norfolk, VA, this 525‑bed tertiary care facility houses the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
