Job Summary
The Healthy Start Home Visitor meets with expectant parents and families with young children in Dewitt and McLean Counties, providing strength-based, family-centered services, comprehensive assessment, and education. As a Home Visitor, you will develop safe and trusting relationships with expectant and new parents, helping them expand support networks, maximize access to needed services, and provide support and expertise as they navigate the parenting journey.
CandidateQualifications
- Associate's Degree in a human services field required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred. - One year of experience working with families with children under the age of 5 required.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
- Complete assessments with families to determine child/family needs according to specified timelines.
- Establish trusting and nurturing relationships with clients and participants.
- Observe parent-child interactions, listen carefully, and respond with empathy to engage participants in reflection about the parent-child relationship.
- Assist clients in expanding their support systems by networking, advocating, and locating community resources to support family well‑being.
- Maintain positive working relationships with partners, referring agencies, and other community resources.
- Help families set goals and create action plans, including resource identification.
- Support families experiencing trauma, domestic violence, mental health issues, homelessness, or substance abuse, and develop safety plans when needed.
- Complete required documentation, paperwork, and data entry accurately and within designated timelines.
- Hourly pay range: $19–$21 per hour; offers are commensurate with experience and may be higher for bilingual candidates.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year; 11 paid holidays; supplemental insurance options.

- Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
Hybrid (office-based/remote). Must work from the Bloomington, IL home office at least three times per week and provide home- and community-based services in person to participants in Dewitt and McLean Counties. Monday–Friday, full-time, with some evening flexibility as needed.
