Manager, Policy and Public Affairs (Canada – Field Based)

The Manager, Policy and Public Affairs will shape the external environment across Canada to support access to automated insulin delivery pump and supplies technology. This role involves developing and executing public affairs strategies, engaging with policymakers, patient organizations, and other key stakeholders, and advocating for favorable policy frameworks for Omnipod® systems and future innovations.
- Develop and implement public affairs strategies aligned with business priorities and healthcare system dynamics.
- Monitor and analyze health policy developments, regulatory changes, and political trends affecting diabetes care and medical devices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including health authorities, policy makers, patient advocacy groups, professional associations, and Omnipod patient advocates.
- Advocate for policies that support innovation, access, and reimbursement of automated insulin delivery technologies.
- Deliver policy messaging, briefs, position papers, and advocacy strategies.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and coalitions to advance shared policy goals.
- Collaborate with the internal cross‑functional team at local and regional levels to optimize communication tools, advocacy efforts and tactical plans.
- Ensure compliance with lobbying and transparency regulations.
- Contribute to internal education on policy trends and implications for business strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public health, health, economics, law, or related field.
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).
- Three or more years of experience in public affairs, policy, or government relations, preferably in the healthcare or medical device sector.
- Strong understanding of healthcare policy, regulatory frameworks and political processes in Canada.
- Experience working with national and provincial authorities and policy‑making bodies.
- Established relationships with decision‑makers and influencers in the healthcare policy space.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, policy and public affairs campaigns.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Strategic thinking and ability to navigate complex policy environments.
- Familiarity with reimbursement systems and healthcare funding.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office; basic knowledge of data analysis tools (SQL, R, etc.) is a plus.
- Travel may be up to 30% during certain periods.
