Full‑time, Day Shift Environmental Services Tech I (Housekeeper)
LocationSentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA
Hours/ShiftFull‑time, Day Shift 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and working every other weekend.
Responsibilities- Maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary environment in assigned areas.
- Perform tasks such as damp dusting, mopping, scouring, scrubbing, stripping, and polishing.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for waste collection, handling, and transport.
- Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily cleaning and sanitation goals.
- Adhere to sanitation protocols and infection prevention standards.
- Provide excellent service to patients and staff.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; or 1 year of housekeeping/ESD experience in lieu of high school education.
- 1 year of housekeeping/ESD experience; housekeeping/Environmental Services cleaning experience.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525‑bed tertiary care facility in Norfolk, VA. It hosts the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School, and offers specialized services across heart, neuroscience, oncology, behavioral health, maternity, and neonatal intensive care units.
