Position: Insurance/Billing Collection Assistant III (Remote) - Department of Medicine - Business Office

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Perform insurance follow‑up billing and collection duties to ensure timely and accurate payment of physician charges
  • Review patient accounts for accuracy, including insurance verification and invoice resolution
  • Utilize Epic and other system tools for claim submission and status inquiries
  • Make collection calls to insurance companies and patients for prompt payment
  • Assist with training new staff and support customer service in billing inquiries
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing or insurance
  • Ability to perform tasks in a normal office environment, including repetitive wrist and hand movements for PC typing
  • No specific certification or professional license required
  • Must consistently meet Quality Assurance (QA) and efficiency standards
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Experience with claims resolution and collections strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD‑10
  • Previous experience with Epic EHR
