Position Summary

Job Title: Hospital Services Coordinator

Location: Home‑Hybrid, Altoona (office at Mercy Des Moines 3 days per week)

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; evening and weekend shifts possible.

Compensation Range: $63,300 – $79,100 annually (final salary based on education, experience, skills).

This role requires the ability to build relationships, manage efficient donation processes, and advocate for IDN’s mission while supporting hospital partners. The Coordinator builds trusting relationships, creates a culture of donation, and solves challenges in collaboration with hospital teams.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with hospital partners, building comprehensive and high‑performing donation programs.
  • Establish and maintain hospital policies related to donation.
  • Provide education and develop strategic plans.
  • Conduct follow‑up and after‑action reviews; perform data analysis.
  • Participate in team and organizational meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support team or organizational goals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in nursing, social work, paramedicine, or a health‑care field.
  • Or a degree in marketing, public relations, or life science with at least one year of health‑care related experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Communicate effectively with all personnel and represent IDN professionally.
  • Present information in small and large group settings, in person and online.
  • Prepare materials tailored to audience and purpose.
  • Navigate a fast‑paced critical‑care hospital environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Give and receive direction effectively.
  • Demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
  • Use computers and common software tools.
Physical Requirements
  • Receive required vaccines (e.g., influenza annually by December 1, COVID‑19 as required).
  • Travel to hospitals across Iowa.
  • Deliver and receive verbal information clearly.
  • Drive under various conditions.
  • Sit for eight or more hours in an office setting.
  • Lift up to 25 lb.
  • Perform stooping, kneeling, reaching, and handling tasks.
