Full Time. Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $19.89 - $27.85 / hour. This is a remote position; incumbents residing in Florida may work remotely. There may be occasional on-site work at an assigned Lee Health location.

Abstracts data from medical records into Epic and 3M 360 to provide a detailed case summary of medical, demographic, and statistical information. Identifies and codes diagnoses and procedures for medical records according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, including department modifications. Identifies primary diagnosis and procedure as well as pertinent secondary diagnoses and procedures. Follows procedures mandated by government and other payers for completion of coded data including APC assignments.

Responsible for coding Surgical Records, Evaluation & Management Encounters, ED (with E&M) and as needed Diagnostic, HCC, Retrospective Coding, Documentation Quality Assurance, and Ancillary records.
RequirementsEducational Requirements
- Degree/Diploma Obtained / Program of Study Required
Experience Requirements
- 1 Year Outpatient Coding Required
- Outpatient (Acute Care Hospital or Physician) Multidisciplinary Coding and/or Provider E&M Level of Service Coding (Professional Fee Only) Required
Licenses/Certifications
- Florida Licensure Required
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder), COC (Certified Outpatient Coder), CPC-P (Certified Professional Coder-Payer), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) - Preferred or Not Required
- CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) required - or - CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) required - or - RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) required - or - RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) required. Minimum of one coding certification. Other specialty certifications from AAPC or AHIMA will be considered.
Additional Requirements
