Licensed Crisis Counselor – Fully Remote in Albuquerque, New Mexico
We are looking for a Licensed Crisis Counselor to provide 24/7 telephonic crisis response. The position is fully remote, and candidates must be licensed in New Mexico and reside in the state.
Education- MSW, PsyD, or PhD in a behavioral health field, OR
- M.A./M.S. in a behavioral health field with a clinical practice emphasis from a COAMFTE, CACREP, or CORE‑accredited program
- LMHC
- LPCC
- LMSW
- LCSW
Minimum of 1 year direct experience in behavioral health, counseling, or social services.
LocationRemote. New Mexico residency required.

- + $1.00/hour for volunteering both Saturday and Sunday on recurring schedule

AboutThe Role
As a Crisis Counselor, you will be a telephonic first responder, delivering compassionate emotional support, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and stabilization services.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide empathetic, ethical, and professional telephonic support to individuals in distress.
- Build rapport, actively listen, and foster client engagement.
- Assess emotional and behavioral health concerns, including risk levels and urgent safety issues.
- Provide resources, coping strategies, referrals, and safety planning.
- Intervene appropriately in emergent situations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation.
- Multitask effectively while navigating multiple software systems.
- Ensure a secure, HIPAA‑compliant home workspace with a locking door and a stable, wired internet connection.
- Six‑Week Paid Virtual Training Cohort (Mon‑Fri, 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM PST). Completion required for continued employment.
- Remote scheduling: upon completion, transition to a regular schedule developed with the scheduling team, including availability on weekends and holidays.
