PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
Compass One Healthcare is hiring immediate patient dining associates for full‑time and part‑time positions at HSHS St. Joseph Highland, 12866 Troxler Avenue, Highland, IL 62249. Applications are accepted online only.
Schedule: 5:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., days may vary. Rotating weekends required.
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour.
Requirements: Previous customer service and healthcare experience preferred.
Job SummaryPatient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring meal accuracy, timely delivery, and patient satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Help patients understand menu selections and ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements.
- Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or additional selections.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s order, retrieve trays from rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with federal, state, JCAHO, and HIPAA regulations; adhere to confidentiality and patient rights.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down tray lines.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel timely.
- Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports per company policies.
- Comply with sanitation regulations and departmental procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
