United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the country’s largest Ambulatory Surgery Center platform, is seeking a Surgery Center Administrator for Millennium Surgical Center in Cherry Hill, NJ. The state‑of‑the‑art, multispecialty facility performs procedures in Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastics, and Podiatry. There are 3 Operating Rooms and 1 Procedure room. The ideal candidate will have ASC leadership experience or hospital surgical leadership experience with ASC exposure.
Job Summary- Directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of operating functions, processes, and staff while ensuring efficient delivery of surgical services and improvement of clinical and financial performance.
- Daily operation of the facility.
- Act as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments.
- Report pertinent activities to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
- Appoint a responsible person in the Administrator’s absence.
- Plan services and facility operations.
- Overall management of the Partnership per the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement.
- Lead discussions/presentations during Monthly Operations Review calls with USPI’s Home Office team.
- Deploy and monitor USPI’s EDGETM system as the foundation for operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with USPI’s internal control policies.
- Develop, monitor, and control staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget.
- Develop, monitor, and control purchasing plan within budget and group purchasing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Negotiate and control all external contracts.
- Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and market standards.
- Foster positive work relationships and serve as liaison with USPI’s Home Office.
- Develop and enforce departmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Monitor financial performance variations to avoid cash flow problems.
- Hold monthly staff meetings to outline goals.
- Manage exempt and non‑exempt employees per facility policies.
- Review employee performance annually or as scheduled.
- Approve disciplinary actions and employment terminations.
- Evaluate management and staff performance.
- Approve new or vacant positions and applicants.
- Develop staff productivity analysis and adjust workforce as needed.
- Implement a job‑based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation program.
- Manage employee files and records.
- Provide educational opportunities and promote positive customer relations.
- Ensure compliance of surgical programs and clinical services with regulatory and accrediting standards.
- Work with Medical Director and Executive Committee on service evaluation and development.
- Manage clinical departments and supervise contracted services.
- Monitor surgical and patient care equipment functionality.
- Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility’s sales team.
- Identify and develop new ambulatory surgery services.
- Foster positive public relations and marketing.
- Develop, evaluate, and promote a continuous quality improvement program.
- Administer infection control and medical staff review of the quality program.
- Identify and correct quality care issues.
- Develop statistical indicators for operations and quality evaluation.
- Serve on the Quality Improvement Committee.
- Process credentialing of practitioners.
- Collaborate with Medical Director on bylaw review and revision.
- Serve as liaison in medical staff issues and promote positive relationships.
- Develop a system defining physician and patient needs for service mix and efficiencies.
- Attend corporate meetings representing the facility.
- Act in accordance with the facility’s vision, mission, and business philosophy.
- Maintain membership in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities.
- Stay current with changes in reimbursement, legislation, and business law.
