Cardiac Device Remote Technician – Specialty Cardiology

Cardiac Study Center (CSC) and Pulse Heart Institute (Pulse) collaborate to provide outpatient cardiology and billing services. CSC partners with Pulse and Multi Care Health System to deliver outpatient cardiology services in the Puget Sound Region for over 50 years.

  • Schedule:

    Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
  • Hours:

    8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Weekends/Holidays:
    Closed
  • Work Setting:
    Fully in-office (office location 1901 South Cedar Street, Tacoma, WA 98405)
Position Summary

The Remote Cardiac Device Technician ensures accurate and efficient monitoring of cardiac readings for patients with implantable cardiac devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. This role leverages remote technology to facilitate timely medical interventions and supports patient management processes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct remote monitoring and management of pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders under supervision of Device Nurses and Providers.
  • Monitor vendor websites, alert providers and nurses to significant events, and prepare reports for provider review.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide follow-up via telephone.
  • Educate patients on use of remote bedside monitors.
  • Document all patient interactions and upload reports into the EMR system.
  • Assist with billing and charge entry for remote monitoring services.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Device Technician or Monitor/Telemetry Technician preferred.
  • Proficiency in rhythm recognition from basic to advanced levels.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • One year of experience with EPIC (EMR) and one year of experience with pacemaker monitoring.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of six months of related experience or training.
  • Basic ECG and loops recognition skills are essential.
  • Additional training as a device, monitor, or telemetry technician is required.
Certifications
  • Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist (CDRMS) certification preferred. Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
Pay and Benefit Expectations

Starting salary: $24.06 per hour; pay range: $24.06–$36.82 per hour. Benefits include competitive salary, medical, dental, retirement, and paid time off.
