EH &S Program Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to build a best in class global health and safety (H&S) program. Okta is growing at an accelerated pace and we need a health and safety professional who can develop, implement, and drive effective, scalable solutions that keep our people safe wherever they choose to work.

What you’ll be doing

Support the business as the subject matter expert on Health and Safety requirements and best practices, both strategically and tactically.
Implement a Global Health and Safety Program that fosters a safety-conscious culture within the workforce, reduces hazards, ensures preparedness, and maintains regulatory compliance.
Develop and execute effective plans and strategies for illness and injury prevention, project and construction safety management, pandemic and infectious disease mitigation, travel and event safety, and work-from-home risk management.
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that health and safety activities are effectively integrated into project plans.
Create an innovative training program that educates and empowers employees to work safely from anywhere.
Manage all aspects of Okta’s Emergency Response and Preparedness Program.
Partner closely with Okta’s Workplace leaders and managers to effectively implement H&S controls and initiatives across the organization.
Own H&S vendor management, ensuring practical vendor execution that is efficient, effective, and within budget.
Ensure Okta’s Global H&S standards meet or surpass regulatory requirements.
Build strong partnerships and trust that promote H&S participation and adoption across the company.
Investigate reports of incidents and hazards, apply effective corrective actions, and meet all applicable governmental reporting requirements.
Establish relevant controls to measure H&S program performance, employee compliance, and take corrective action as needed.
Organize and lead site inspections and audits to assess risk and compliance, identify issues, and recommend corrective measures.
Prepare and deliver professional reports and briefings suitable for executive audiences.
Manage Okta's workers' compensation program, including claim reporting, communication with adjusters and medical providers, return-to-work initiatives, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Manage Okta’s Ergonomics Program.
Organize, support, and guide Okta’s cross-functional H&S committee.
Plan and oversee the annual Health and Safety (H&S) budget, ensuring fiscal compliance.
Domestic and international travel may be necessary.

What you’ll bring to the role

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, degree in a similar related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of increasing responsibilities in managing environmental, health and safety programs, with preference to managing H&S programs at global scale.
Certification from an accredited health and safety related organization.
Strong background in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or similar applications.
Detail oriented and a strong process developer/writer.
