• Initiate and facilitate the pre-determination process for insurance coverage
• Contact insurance companies for benefit verification and pre-certification of procedures
• Maintain daily surgery/procedure schedules while communicating with physicians and assistants
• Document and log all pre-certifications in process and notify relevant departments
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

• High school diploma or equivalent certification or a combination of education and/or experience
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a medical office setting
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily
• No specific certification or professional license required
• Punctuality and availability for scheduled work shifts

• Associate degree
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with managed care and medical insurance coding
• Proficiency in organizing and managing third-party payer interactions
