Medical Billing Specialist

• Prepare and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party carriers in a timely and accurate manner
• Research and apply new and changing regulations to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance
• Educate hospital personnel on billing regulations and their impact on reimbursement
• Conduct comprehensive follow-up with payers on timely reimbursements for accounts
• Maintain confidentiality and handle restricted information from various sources within the medical center

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or accounting setting
• Completion of medical coding and/or billing course(s) is a plus
• 3-5 years of related experience in healthcare or accounting preferred
• 1-3 years of direct experience involving claims, insurance, or patient accounting preferred

• Experience in a healthcare billing or medical coding role
• Familiarity with federal and third-party payer regulations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
