The Field Clinical Specialist will participate in clinical studies, provide device training, ensure timely data collection, and may support other territories as needed.
Job DescriptionJohnson & Johnson is hiring for a Field Clinical Specialist – Shockwave Medical to join the team in Corpus Christi, Texas. The role involves case support during pre-market and post-market phases, training, data collection for clinical programs, and collaboration with clinical study teams to meet business needs.
Essential Job Functions- Physician and hospital staff training, and procedural case coverage to ensure the safe and effective use of medical devices.
- Meet the needs of internal and external customers with urgency and drive.
- Present clinical study training materials based on investigational plans to support safe and effective use of medical devices, including study protocol, instructions for use, core lab manuals and case report forms.
- Manage key study investigators; foster and maintain strong relationships with medical advisors and clinical leaders.
- Partner with other clinical research colleagues to meet field needs including site re-training, data collection for timely database locks, and resolution of critical issues.
- Administrative activities including training procedures, territory travel and budgets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, nursing or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience directly supporting interventional or surgical procedures within a hospital setting OR 1 year of industry, hospital-based life sciences, or sales support experience. Cardiovascular industry experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials.
- History of effective collaboration with regulatory agencies through clinical studies and market releases.
- Product knowledge including product vigilance and medical device reporting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; computer skills (MS Office); budgeting knowledge.
- Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills; ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage priorities.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work cross-functionally, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Ability to travel >50% of the time; may work remotely at times.
Physical Requirements
- May require continuous sitting for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs; work in air-conditioned office and potentially non-temperature controlled warehouse space.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
Base $100,000 + variable compensation. Company-sponsored benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off per company policy.
