Outpatient Pharmacy Technician

Overview

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Careplex Hospital. This position is located in Hampton, VA, and is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week role with rotating 8‑hour shifts (8:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.). As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fill and deliver medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist / licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triage and escalat[e] any questions or issues beyond the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Use appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintain quality assurance in accordance with departmental and legal requirements.
• Operate pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Perform additional duties as directed.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification / Licensure

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (required)
• CPhT License (required)

Experience

• Previous Pharmacy Tech Experience (required)

Sentara Care Plex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is a 224‑bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center.
