Outpatient Pharmacy Technician
Overview
Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Careplex Hospital. This position is located in Hampton, VA, and is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week role with rotating 8‑hour shifts (8:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.). As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
Responsibilities- Fill and deliver medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist / licensed independent practitioner.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
- Triage and escalat[e] any questions or issues beyond the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
- Use appropriate systems for processing patient information.
- Maintain quality assurance in accordance with departmental and legal requirements.
- Operate pharmacy equipment appropriately.
- Perform additional duties as directed.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification / Licensure
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (required)
- CPhT License (required)

- Previous Pharmacy Tech Experience (required)

Sentara Care Plex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is a 224‑bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center. The hospital offers specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, along with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program, and one of the state's busiest emergency departments. The Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara Care Plex Hospital is the area's first dedicated orthopedic hospital.
