PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE - DIETARY AIDE (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Location:
Cape Canaveral Hospital, 701 West Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Online applications are accepted only.
- Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or when additional selections are requested.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, and JCAHO). Adhere to facility confidentiality and patients rights policies (HIPAA).
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
- Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on specific diets (e.g., liquid diets or calorie-counted plans) as directed.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
