What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Develop and lead audit projects for medical record integrity and service line-related audits
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with Providers for corrective educational guidance and develop action plans
  • Research and develop comprehensive written processes and guidelines for correct coding
  • Monitor audit trends to identify errors in coding and documentation and recommend improvement strategies
  • Provide training for staff and Providers on CPT, ICD 10, and HCC coding standards
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Professional Coder or RHIT required;
    Certified Auditor or HIM designation preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in coding, reimbursement analysis, and medical record auditing
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and insurance company regulations affecting compliance in healthcare
  • Proficiency in operating standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems, including Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Previous experience with primary care and multi-specialty care
  • Experience in health care operations or process improvement work with a health care insurance organization
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to create and present effective group educational sessions
  • Experience in developing educational materials tailored to specific coding and compliance needs
