Location: Huntington

The Primary Therapist provides clinical leadership for an assigned team of field mentors and works closely with program staff and the field department to provide individualized treatment for adolescent and young adult clients in an outdoor setting. Therapist tasks include weekly individual and group therapy, in person and phone/virtual family therapy sessions when appropriate, weekly parent calls and communication with educational consultants and other involved professionals.

The Primary Therapist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a client's treatment and is the primary case manager including treatment planning, clinical documentation, and discharge planning. Additional tasks include, but are not limited to: weekly clinical meetings, occasionally attending/conducting weekly field mentor trainings, on-call availability for field support, sharing emergency on-call with other therapists, attending national therapeutic and educational conferences, and providing supervision for clinical interns or other therapists as needed.

Manage a caseload of 8-10 clients, working with both clients and family programming supporting Family Services Department Be timely and available to your group when the field calls for guidance Support the training and management of field guides including visiting training groups when assigned Develop and maintain clinical documents included but not limited to updating group summary, updating Best Notes, email updates to Field Team concerning discharges Participate in on-going training for clinical and program staff on relevant therapeutic topics Present a topic for field guides during in-service and a topic for Spotlight Seminars at least twice a year Support psychiatric care providers Attend weekly meetings included but not limited to clinical meetings, Interdepartmental Treatment Team meeting and weekly consultation with parent coach Oversee client risk assessments and crisis intervention Assist with the creation and maintenance of programing, program policies and procedures applicable to clinical services including therapeutic resources Marketing:
Collaborate with Outreach and Admissions departments to identify and promote marketing opportunities and develop positive working relationships with referral sources Actively work with admissions to set up travel and marketing meetings Travel an average of 4x/year including conferences and events Program:
Participate in the development of Elements' program goals. In partnership with program leadership, primary therapists are a public face for the program and build relationships with referral sources, aftercare resources, and the broader community Family Focus support:
Co-facilitate Family Focus experiences as scheduled Engage in preparation calls with family members prior to Family Focus experiences.

Qualifications:

Masters or Doctorate degree in mental/behavioral health or related field. Currently Licensed or License-eligible in the state of Utah in a related field (LCSW, LCPC, Psychologist, CMHC, LMFT, etc). Preferred - a minimum of 3 years experience with inpatient, outpatient and/or mental health care. Preferred - direct clinical and case management experience working with adolescents and their families Training or experience in DBT, Seven Challenges, addiction work, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and trauma work a plus.

Strong clinical, independent, and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct work of others. An ability to function safely in an outdoor setting and a sense of adventure and humor are key qualities for a wilderness therapist. Therapists must pass a drug-screen and background check. First aid and CPR are required annually Ability to maintain healthy professional boundaries, as well as foster a supportive environment for families and team members
