Professional Medical Coder II; Remote Vascular Coder Position, reside in SC

• Assign ICD and CPT codes for reimbursement and statistical purposes, following regulatory guidelines
• Abstract clinical information from medical records for accurate documentation
• Research and stay updated on trends in healthcare coding and compliance
• Collaborate with physicians and coding staff to ensure proper code assignment
• Assist with coding claim edits and review claim denials for correction

• Minimum education:
  
  High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of professional coding experience covering multiple clinical and/or surgical specialties
• Active AAPC or AHIMA coding credential required
• Experience working with CPT, ICD diagnosis coding, and electronic health records software
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Experience with CCI edits and understanding of Medicare LCDs and NCDs
• Familiarity with E/M Documentation Guidelines (1995/1997/2021)
