Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence. You will often be the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations.

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists in managing and improving patient health.
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off).
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by displaying empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and services, and solving or escalating patient problems.
• Assist with inventory activities, including accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
• Participate in a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores in the market.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies concerning patient safety and privacy.
• Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point‑of‑care testing when permitted by law and appropriate training.

• Complete licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
• Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the on‑duty pharmacist.
• Monitor adverse reactions and report events per public health requirements.
• Collect and document patient information required for each vaccination.
• Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements, which include age, education, and licensure/certification.
• State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state ( to learn more).
• At least 16 years old if the board does not specify a minimum age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (or active enrollment) if no higher educational requirement is set by the board.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Complete required training within designated time frames.
• Focus and attention: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks, and confirm prescription details for safety.
• Customer service and team orientation: assist customers friendly, recognize patient reactions, and respond appropriately.
• Communication skills: use verbal and written communication, active listening, and clear articulation.
• Mathematical reasoning: apply math to issues such as tablet counts, supply calculations, and portioning.
• Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and select appropriate solutions.
• Physical demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift, scan, and operate machines; accommodate repetitive finger work; lift up to 20 lbs; and perform tasks requiring precision.
• Perform any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

• 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in retail, medical, or customer service settings.
• Willingness to work in a home store and travel to other locations in the market.
