Medical Coder Certified – USFTGP RCO (250004U7)
The Medical Coder Certified is responsible for accurate coding, charge verification, and data abstraction necessary for billing in various professional healthcare settings. Working from the appropriate documentation in the medical record, the coder applies classification systems including ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, and other specialty systems as required by diagnostic category. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement.
QualificationsRequired: High School Diploma or GED
Certification: Certified Professional Coder – CPC or equivalent
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in practical coding experience. Coders are held to a high standard, with a requirement of greater than 95% accuracy rate during coding assessments.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10 and HCPCS coding systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and reimbursement methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions.
