This full‑time role involves providing treatment to patients in facilities, collaborating with the attending DDS, clinical coordinator, and staff to ensure comprehensive care. You will travel 20 minutes to 2.5 hours, with all drive time over 30 minutes paid and mileage reimbursed. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Review patient lists before each visit and ensure all supplies/equipment are available.
- Check in with the dental contact, review the list of patients, and confirm equipment setup.
- Transport, set‑up, and take down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace.
- Coordinate patient and chart transfers with nursing home staff; call clinical support manager if transport issues arise.
- Perform required care—including X‑rays, teeth/denture cleaning, sealant application, and oral health assessment—following ADA and company standards.
- Explain procedures to patients and follow up with facility staff on recommendations.
- Enter chart notes into Salesforce at the time of treatment.
- Maintain strict OSHA safety and cleanliness standards during patient treatment.
- Properly dispose of disposables before leaving the facility.
- Check out with the dental contact, review chart notes, and leave printed copies for patient charts.
- Work with the clinical support manager on patient care schedules and follow‑ups.
- Maintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance.
- Inventory supplies and order as needed.
- Follow OSHA guidelines for instrument sterilization.
- Use a personal vehicle to transport equipment/supplies and travel to scheduled facility visits.
- Remain available via cell phone during work hours.
- Expense purchases for office needs and unforeseen supply purchases as reimbursed.
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing with at least 5 years of experience; willing to obtain additional state licensure as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the last five years.
- Own reliable transportation capable of transporting equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to push/pull up to 200 pounds (e.g., patient in wheelchair) and lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to collaborate with nursing home staff.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to log chart notes promptly.
- Strong organizational skills to keep supplies, dentures, and schedules updated.
- Multi‑tasker who can prioritize and address multiple demands simultaneously.
