Overview

The CDC Foundation seeks a full-time Data Analyst to provide technical assistance and analytic support for the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) LOCATe® tool and related risk-appropriate care (RAC) analyses. This role will focus on developing and maintaining SAS code files, supporting cross-state data analyses, and identifying informatics solutions to improve survey administration, scoring, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong quantitative and data management skills, experience with SAS or similar coding platforms, and the ability to communicate findings clearly through scientific writing.

Atlanta-based candidates are preferred. Remote work may be considered, though in-person team meetings in Atlanta, GA may be required. Relocation expenses are not provided. The starting salary range is $80,000-$90,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications. The CDC Foundation offers an attractive benefits package. This is a full-time grant funded position through September 30, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain SAS code files for LOCATe® scoring, data linkage, and analysis.
  • Support cross-state risk-appropriate care (RAC) data analyses to inform program and policy decisions.
  • Assist with scoring activities and ensure accuracy and consistency across datasets.
  • Identify informatics and automation needs, proposing solutions for survey administration, tool scoring, and reporting processes.
  • Conduct analyses using LOCATe® and related datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with partners on additional RAC analyses and contribute to broader analytic projects.
  • Document processes and maintain clear records to support reproducibility and transparency.
  • Collaborate with the CDC and other partners to ensure program alignment, compliance, and ongoing support.
  • Develop and produce reports and recommendations that guide program improvements and sustainability efforts.
  • Review and provide written feedback on project deliverables to maintain quality standards and enhance outcomes.
  • Lead or support the development of written materials that may include reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other outputs.
  • Represent the CDC Foundation and the project team at meetings and partnership events as needed.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Necessary Skills
  • Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, health informatics, or other related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public health or related professional experience required.
  • Experience implementing and/or working on programs related to maternal and child health.
  • Strong quantitative, data management, and data analysis skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency conducting analysis and coding in SAS (preferred) other statistical software programs (e.g., R, Python, Stata).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex analyses and synthesize findings into clear reports.
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to present technical results to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with analyses focused on health care systems and access is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with diverse colleagues, and demonstrated success as a team player.
  • Superior organizational skills, project management capabilities, and attention to detail.
  • Capable of acting independently and tracking, summarizing, and reporting activities.
  • Excellent written communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, comprehensive reports.
  • Report development and recommendation skills, including the ability to produce evidence-based guidance for program improvement.

This position will work a hybrid schedule based in Atlanta, GA. Relocation expenses are not provided. Up to 10% domestic travel may be required.
