Job Description

We are looking for a Physical Therapist to work with children to help them develop various physical abilities and promote growth and development in natural environments.

Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to and demonstrate Baby Watch Early Intervention core values and purpose in the performance of all aspects to address functional needs of the child (Birth - 3years) in various developmental domains particularly related to physical development, sensory, motor, and postural development.
• Follow through on assigned referrals by providing evaluation, assessment, eligibility determination, and IFSP development.
• Plan and implement physical therapy to promote the family's capacity to care for their child and promote growth and development in natural environments.
• Make recommendations to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional, cognition, speech/language/communication, self-help, and adaptive
• Collaborate with families with an understanding of child development, and infant mental health.
• Plans and manages projects and/or programs.
• Writes (or discusses) project/program plans, recommendations and findings.
• Maintain an assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitate child and family driven outcomes.
• Coach parents to learn and follow through with interventions.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
• Support families through the transition process before the child ages out of Baby Watch Early Intervention services

Minimum/Required Qualifications

• Licensure as a physical therapist in Utah.
• Valid Driver license
• One or more years pediatric experience
• Must be able to pass a fingerprinting background check.

Preference

• Baby Watch Early Intervention Specialist Credential
• Previous Part C early intervention experience
• Knowledge of early childhood development, specific to birth to 3 years

Schedule

• Schedule can be flexible but must be consistent; 40 hours per week
• This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days.

The Agency

The purpose of the Baby Watch Early Intervention Program (BWEIP) is to enhance early growth and development in infants and toddlers, who have developmental delays or disabilities, by providing individualized support and services to the child and their family.

• Licensure as a physical therapist in Utah. Per UCA 58-24a-109
• Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc. institutional environment with possible hazards due to the nature of the client population; working with power tools; exposure to toxic chemicals.
• Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time
