Job Overview

Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist – Behavioral Health Operations (250004X3) – Tampa General Hospital.

The Licensed BH Outpatient Therapist provides culturally competent, ethical, and compassionate behavioral health services to individuals, families, and couples in an outpatient setting. The role supports patients with diverse backgrounds and mental health and substance use needs, helping them achieve emotional wellness and improved quality of life.

• Provide outpatient behavioral health services in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
• Deliver culturally competent, ethical, and compassionate care to individuals, families, and couples.
• Support patients in achieving emotional wellness and improved quality of life.

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor OR Licensed Marital and Family Therapist.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an outpatient setting, including 1,500 hours of supervised post‑Master’s experience.
• Experience working with military and veteran populations.

• Knowledge of working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting with diverse populations presenting a range of behavioral health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and substance use disorders.
• Highly motivated, independent, and capable of performing in a complex environment with the ability to prioritize effectively and complete tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport, build trusting relationships, maintain healthy boundaries, and respect patient rights and personal preferences.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
