Responsibilities
Provides specific promotion and education services monthly throughout a WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) client's pregnancy and at least monthly throughout the course of lactation.
QualificationsRequires experience breastfeeding at least one infant for a period no less than three (3) months; enthusiasm about breastfeeding; desire to help other mothers enjoy a positive breastfeeding experience; ability to work the number of hours assigned; ability to work at least 80% of working hours from WIC locations (please note that the 20% is allotted for answering calls from home and performing outreach, not scheduling to work from home).
The qualified candidate must possess a telephone and be willing to receive calls from home and outside of normal work hours; possess an associate's degree (AA) and one (1) year breastfeeding experience. Proper training in use of equipment and delivery of equipment to clients is required. Some travel is required. This is a non-state service (NS 14), time-limited position with the Mississippi State Department of Health.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience.
