Per Diem Coding Specialist

• Review patient medical records and translate information into codes for insurance claims processing
• Confirm treatments with medical staff and identify any missing information for reimbursement submissions
• Evaluate medical record documentation and coding to optimize reimbursement and ensure compliance with legal standards
• Provide technical guidance to physicians and staff in resolving coding errors and documentation issues
• Audit clinical documentation and coded data to validate services rendered for reimbursement and reporting purposes

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Medical coding experience of 0-1 year preferred
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT®, HCPCS, and modifiers for coding of professional fee services
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Proficient with computer applications, including MS Office, and possess excellent data entry skills

• Certified Professional Coder - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
