Position: Remote Medical Insurance Reimbursement Specialist

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Process and verify reimbursement claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines
  • Review and resolve claim discrepancies, including incorrect payments and denials
  • Apply correct transaction codes to accounts for proper claim adjudication
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to investigate claim denials and appeal decisions
  • Document account actions accurately in compliance with department protocols
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience in medical billing, reimbursement, claims processing, or accounts receivable
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement procedures
  • Familiarity with claim submission and denial management processes
  • Ability to analyze account balances and identify discrepancies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Associate Degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with payer reimbursement policies and healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
