ROI Medical Records Specialist - Remote

• Review requestor information to determine which records to release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Answer phone calls and assist customers with various ROI issues
• Log customer requests and information into the ROI On-Line database
• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax necessary information
• Scan medical records and ensure compliance with site facility policies and regulations

• Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to respond to customer inquiries
• Proven track record of dependability and attention to detail
• Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
• Experience using the internet for research and information retrieval
