Prescription Prior Authorization Specialist

• Submit prior authorizations to insurance companies to ensure timely prescription coverage for patients
• Verify insurance coverage and prescription formularies to facilitate payment for prescriptions
• Maintain accurate documentation of authorizations and authorization statuses
• Address patient concerns and questions regarding the authorization process through incoming calls
• Collaborate with insurance companies, pharmacies, and providers to resolve authorization issues

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of experience in office work preferred
• Proficiency in personal computers, including word processing and electronic spreadsheets
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities

• Experience with eClinical
  
  Works or similar systems
• Ability to multitask and learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment
