Job Description Summary- Responsible for ensuring all services are assigned with the correct CPT, HCPCS, and ICD‑10‑CM codes and billed in accordance with government and third‑party payer guidelines in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of the role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned, in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. - Certifications/Licenses: CPC, CPC‑A, CCS, or CCS‑P required or must obtain one of these coding certifications within one year from date of hire.
- Proficient knowledge with the application of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, and HCPCS coding.
- Minimum of one year of professional fee coding experience in medical oncology coding, radiation oncology coding, or multispecialty coding preferred.
- Experience with navigation of EMR and practice management software required (Centricity and OncoEMR preferred).
- Previous billing and collections experience with government and third‑party payers preferred.
- Analysis & Critical Thinking: solid problem‑solving, analysis, decision‑making, planning, time management, and organizational skills.
- Must be detail‑oriented with independent judgment.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: diplomatic, tactful, conflict‑management, delegation, and diversity awareness skills.
- Handles sensitive and confidential material, often emotionally charged matters.

Good command of English; second language is an asset. - Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: strong customer focus and ability to collaborate across functions.
