Part- or Full-Time (Remote - supporting rural rehabilitation teams)
InReach Rehab is seeking a detail-oriented
Authorization Specialist to support our rehabilitation teams by coordinating pre-authorizations with insurance companies for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organized, behind-the-scenes work and ensuring patients have timely access to care.
InReach Rehab serves hospitals primarily throughout the Midwest. We are committed to strengthening rural healthcare through collaboration and support. This is a remote position, with preference for candidates located in the Midwest, including states such as Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Duties and Responsibilities- Obtain and track pre-authorizations with insurance companies for PT, OT, and SLP services.
- Review patient referrals and documentation to ensure authorization requirements are complete and accurate.
- Follow up with insurers to prevent delays in patient care.
- Work closely with Front Office Coordinators and clinical teams to maintain smooth workflow across locations.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and update authorization status promptly.
- Ensure all authorizations comply with insurance guidelines and healthcare regulations.
- Verify patient insurance benefits and clarify coverage as needed.
- Communicate authorization results clearly and promptly to clinic staff.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in healthcare administration, insurance coordination, or billing preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and One Drive.
- Commitment to teamwork, accuracy, and patient-centered care.
