Communications Lead, Remote

Our client is seeking a Communications Lead for a long-term remote contract opportunity.

Some occasional travel (2-4 times per year) may be required.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Communications Lead to manage internal and external program-level communications and provide administrative support for an initiative focused on application archival. This high-paced program specializes in archival storage of critical information from healthcare, HR, and financial systems, and the subsequent decommissioning of applications to achieve significant cost savings.

The Communications Lead will be responsible for maintaining communication flows both internally and externally. The role involves serving as a facilitator and collaborator—coordinating with end customers, other teams, and vendors to determine requirements and communicate concepts clearly and accessibly to diverse audiences. The Lead will develop effective communication strategies, policies, and mechanisms to facilitate meeting coordination, information dissemination, and escalation pathways.

Additionally, the Lead will make recommendations on process design and implementation related to these functions.

Responsibilities:

• Support project coordination and communication across multiple groups, including policy implementation and administrative tasks.
• Support meetings, webinars, and calls—taking notes, tracking, and reporting action items, developing meeting materials, and responding to queries.
• Create communication strategies and policies for the program.
• Draft, collect, and distribute meeting materials such as agendas and briefings.
• Capture meeting notes and draft minutes, including reporting and tracking action items.
• Organize training sessions.
• Respond to queries from stakeholders.
• Prepare regular status reports and briefings for project managers and leadership.
• Draft, edit, and finalize informational content for various audiences.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience. Experience may substitute for education.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including presentation and public speaking.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Desire:

• Background or experience in informatics.
• Experience resolving program-related issues and concerns.
