Job Summary

The RBT at Elite Spectrum ABA is entrusted with a great deal of responsibility for the care of their patients. Under the guidance and oversight of a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or RBT Supervisor, the RBT delivers behavior analysis services and techniques, ensuring exceptional patient safety and confidentiality while working toward optimal outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities labeled EF (essential functions) are described below:

  • Measurement
    • Implement procedures such as continuous and discontinuous measurement.
    • Collect data on client behaviors electronically.
    • Describe behaviors and environments in observable and measurable terms.
  • Assessment
    • Assist in conducting preference and/or functional assessments.
  • Skill Acquisition
    • Identify essential components of a written skill acquisition plan; prepare for the session accordingly.
    • Use contingencies of reinforcement (e.g., conditioned/unconditioned reinforcement, continuous/intermittent schedules).
    • Utilize discrete‑trial teaching methods and naturalistic strategies such as incidental teaching, task analysis, chaining, and discrimination training.
    • Carry out stimulus‑control transfer, prompting & fading, generalization, maintenance, shaping, and token economies.
  • Behavior Reduction
    • Identify key elements of a written behavior plan and the role of behavior.
    • Incorporate interventions based on motivating operations and discriminative stimuli.
    • Implement differential reinforcement procedures (e.g., DRA, DRO).
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare objective session notes that meet legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
    • Maintain consistent dialogue with a supervisor, asking questions as needed.
  • Professional Conduct & Scope of Practice
    • Adhere to the BACB’s RBT supervision requirements and role definitions.
    • Communicate with stakeholders (family, caregivers, professionals) as authorized.
Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated in the Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations section.
  • Student on a path to working with persons diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Experience Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations Required

  • BACB RBT Certification (must be active and in good standing).
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS with a live component or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated skills and competencies to safely perform the assigned job, as determined through ongoing assessments.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English necessary for safety and quality care.
  • Effective communication with patients, providers, and coworkers, using positive language.
  • Ability to work independently, handle challenging procedures, and apply sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • Professional competence.
