The Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) provides early intervention speech, language, communication, and feeding support to infants and toddlers (birth–age three) and their caregivers. Using evidence-based, play-based, and relationship-centered approaches, the SLP partners with families to strengthen early communication and promote healthy development within everyday routines. This role delivers primarily home-based services as part of an interdisciplinary team and collaborates with caregivers, medical providers, early childhood professionals, and child welfare partners.

This position requires regular travel throughout the state of Indiana

As a Speech and Language Pathologist in our Zero to Three program, you will:

Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments including evaluating speech, language, communication, and early feeding/swallowing development in infants and toddlers using standardized assessment tools, play-based observation, caregiver interviews, and developmental screenings to determine strengths, delays, and functional impact.

Create and implement developmentally appropriate, individualized speech and language intervention plans that address receptive and expressive language, speech sound development, social communication, early literacy foundations, and functional communication within daily routines.

Deliver relationship-based, play-based, and routines-based speech and language interventions in home and community settings, incorporating evidence-based early intervention strategies to support optimal communication development from birth to age three.

Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, pediatricians, and early intervention specialists, to ensure comprehensive care for the child.

Keep accurate and detailed records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

Acts as a liaison between The Villages' families and referring agencies, the children’s families, schools, community resources and The Villages' administrative staff.

Conduct Home based work required based on program

Position Requirements:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited college or university.

Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain within required time frames.

3 years of experience providing speech-language services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three), preferably within early intervention, home-based, medical, or community settings

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Two years previous experience in either foster care or social services

Experience working in Part C Early Intervention systems and/or IFSP development and implementation.

Training and experience in child, adult, and family therapy/counseling
