We are seeking passionate and committed Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to join our vibrant and progressive Daytime AMHP Service within Devon, part of the Devon Partnership NHS Trust. These exciting opportunities are available across multiple areas of Devon and offer the chance to work within a nationally recognised service that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
Main duties of the jobThe role of daytime AMHPs within Devon County Council has evolved significantly in response to the changing landscape of mental health services. While AMHPs are based across various locations in the county, there is an expectation to work flexibly, and travel as needed to support service delivery across all areas. In support of this we offer opportunities for hybrid working, supporting a balance of home-based and office-based practice, in line with service needs and professional development.
Our AMHPs collaborate proactively with both internal and external partners including crisis teams, inpatient wards, community mental health teams, police, CAMHS, and other agencies to ensure a timely and appropriate legal response for individuals at risk of detention or restriction under the Mental Health Act.
In addition to frontline duties, AMHPs hold a small caseload of social supervision patient, with the aim of supporting those individuals and their treating teams with the management of those orders.
