• Review, analyze, and validate diagnostic and procedural codes for reimbursement and billing
• Accurately abstract information from electronic health records for patient database compilation
• Support medical research projects and administrative decision-making related to patient care
• Ensure compliance with established coding guidelines and third‑party reimbursement policies
• Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize reimbursement and maintain accurate database information

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years coding experience
• Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years coding experience
• Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS certification

• Specialty coding experience
• One to two (1-2) years of college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences
