Outpatient Health Information Coding and Reimbursement Specialist; Remote

• Assign, analyze, sequence, and validate diagnosis and procedural codes based on medical record documentation
• Review and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulatory and reimbursement requirements
• Query healthcare providers for additional documentation to ensure accurate coding
• Maintain productivity logs and meet established coding output standards
• Assist in the orientation and development of new coding personnel

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Active certification as CCS, CPC, RHIT, or COC
• Successful passage of the employer's Medical Record Department Outpatient Coding Exam with a grade of 80% or better
• At least 1 year of acute care hospital coding experience for complex outpatient encounters
• Minimum 6 months of PC Windows experience

• Experience coding for oncology/infusion clinics, outpatient surgery, and observation encounters
• Knowledge of health information management trends and practices
