Social/Clinical Research Specialist

Location: North Carolina, US

Department: Surgery – Burn Center

Position Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF), Full‑Time (40 hrs/week)

Salary: $70,972 - $84,000

Start Date: February 16, 2026

Position Summary

This Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will lead the planning, execution and evaluation of multi‑faceted clinical research protocols within the Department of Surgery, Division of Burn. Responsibilities include developing study protocols, managing study execution, improving study processes, reviewing team work products, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate clinical research protocols.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve study processes and execution.
  • Review other team members’ work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Serve as mentor and subject‑matter expert for junior personnel.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus one year of relevant training or experience (or equivalent combination). Degrees must be from accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and ICH guidelines.
  • Previous experience in hospital‑based clinical trials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet tight timelines.
  • Strong organization, problem‑solving skills, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team; remote work possible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing research protocols, data capture, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of database management and HIPAA‑compliant data handling.
