Our client is looking for a meticulous and compassionate Full-Time Patient Care Coordinator for an immediate hire. They are an established psychiatry clinic that has been recognized for improving patient access to vital mental health services. This role is critical in guiding new patients through their initial steps to receiving care.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be the primary point of contact for new patients, managing the entire intake process with precision and empathy. Your key duties will include:
Answering inbound calls from new patients, explaining clinic services, and conducting initial screenings.
Performing detailed insurance eligibility verifications for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans.
Clearly explaining benefits, deductibles, and copays to patients.
Scheduling patient appointments efficiently using their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Following up on patient referrals and managing general reception duties.
Ensuring all patient information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and care.
RequirementsA mandatory background in healthcare, specifically with insurance eligibility verification. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Expertise with various commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Proficiency using insurance verification software and EMR systems.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a pleasant and compassionate phone demeanor.
High dependability, the ability to work independently, and strong technical proficiency with computers and smartphone apps.
QualificationsProven experience as an Eligibility Specialist, New Patient Coordinator, or similar role within a healthcare clinic.
Must pass a mandatory background check.
Fluency in English is required.
Equipment RequirementsA personal computer (no Chromebooks) capable of running necessary software.
A quiet, private workspace free from interruptions.
Reliable high-speed internet (min. 100-300 Mbps download) with a backup connection available.
