- Certify eligible clients into the WIC Program, provide individual nutrition counseling, and conduct group nutrition classes for pregnant and breastfeeding women and caregivers of infants and children.
- Complete medical and nutrition questions in FL‑WiSE, assign risk codes, and schedule high‑risk follow‑ups.
- Promote breastfeeding to WIC clients, schedule infant feeding classes, and coordinate lactation staff follow‑ups.
- Accurately submit certified employee activity reports (EARs) and People First timesheets by required deadlines.
- Represent the DOH‑Seminole WIC Program in outreach activities and community events; attend at least one event per year.
- Trains and educates clerical staff on quarterly second nutrition education kits; assists with training new WIC staff.
- Perform additional duties such as lab measurements, EBT card benefit issuance, and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of records in accordance with departmental regulations and laws.
- Strong foundation in nutrition science, clinical nutrition, and public health nutrition.
- Proficiency in nutritional assessment, care plan development, and client education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle a fast‑paced clinic environment.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Nutritional Science, Community Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited college or university.
- Verified work experience conducting nutritional assessments.
- Experience providing nutrition education in individual or group settings.
- Experience delivering educational presentations to groups of clients, colleagues, or community members.
