Job Description - PACS Clinical Specialist 1 – Radiology – Administration (2600001M)
The PACS Clinical Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing information gathering, form completion, and other activities required to operate the systems to the requirements of the affected user areas. The Specialist will provide training, direction, and assistance to the affected user areas, work collaboratively with the Information Systems Department in project management, training, support, managing applications, preventive maintenance, general systems maintenance, modality acceptance testing, image quality, data integrity, image communication and image storage.
The Specialist is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and other duties assigned by Manager.
Education: Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of high school. Moderate computer skills required to include medical imaging systems. Registry with ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, CVT or CCI preferred. Certified PACS Associate (CPAS), Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in a hospital imaging department. Must be knowledgeable of diagnostic imaging technology and procedures, familiar with computerized information systems, word processing systems, and various hospital information systems. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and educate others on the imaging systems.
Must be an RT or Cardiac Cath technologist.
Must have PACS/Cardiology PACS experience.
