Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Family Preservation Worker to join our In-Home Family Services Program in Traverse City. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska Counties.

• Adhere to the In-Home Family Services model of service (strength-based, non-deficit approach).
• Provide families with concrete services such as housing support, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
• Deliver skills training in areas including parenting, communication, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.
• Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention.
• Make collateral contacts to:
  • arrange outpatient counseling or medical care,
  • address educational needs,
  • assist with utilities,
  • resolve housing issues with landlords, shelters, or housing programs,
  • connect families with community resources.
• Prepare required documentation—service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, weekly plans, time reports, and correspondence—within appropriate time frames.
• Present cases for termination conferences and recommend follow-up services.
• Maintain 24-hour availability to clients and work a flexible schedule based on family needs.
• Conduct face-to-face contact with families according to contract requirements and family needs.
• Maintain weekly communication with referring workers.
• Complete follow-up evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 months post-service.
• Transport clients using your own vehicle when needed.

• Associate's degree in social work or a related human services field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current and valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance required.
• Experience working with children and families preferred.
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to supporting families with a strengths-based approach.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Flexible schedule and 24-hour availability as needed.
• Hybrid-Remote: Home-based with travel throughout Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Kalkaska counties.
• In-Office Requirements: Weekly team meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision
• Salary: $43,000 per year, based on experience
