Certified Oncology Data Specialist – Full‑Time (Hybrid or Remote)
Join Saint Alphonsus Health System, a leading cancer program in Idaho and Eastern Oregon, as a Certified Oncology Data Specialist. In this role you will collect, abstract, manage, and analyze patient data to support national registries and meet accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities- Collect, abstract, enter, analyze, and audit patient data within the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute and for state and national registries.
- Compile and maintain data, generate reports, and maintain dashboards supporting Commission on Cancer quality metrics.
- Identify tumor admissions meeting registry criteria and conduct case finding from pathology, cytology, and diagnostic reports.
- Perform analysis and peer review of abstracts, supervise abstracting duties performed by non‑certified colleagues.
- Prepare statistical reports and comply with all reporting requests and requirements.
- Enter information into applicable databases veilige monitor deficiencies, and submit data in accordance with registry guidelines.
- Assist with coordination of cancer conferences and support the Cancer Committee and ACoS/CoC survey process.
- Maintain daily operations of the Oncology Data Office.
- Associate degree in health information management or related field required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification from the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) required at the time of hire.
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or related quality/coding certification by AHIMA preferred.
- Experience with National Cancer Data Base (NCDB), SEER, State registry standards, and ACoS Commission on Cancer processes.
