• Perform advanced billing and collection activities, including making collection calls and verifying claims>
• Act as a Lead IBC Assistant, providing training and guidance to other team members
• Handle discounts, adjustments, and charge corrections for various financial classifications
• Review remittance advises for accuracy and follow up with insurance companies and collection agencies
• Support customer service by answering billing and collection inquiries
/ul>What is Required (Qualifications):
• High school diploma or equivalent certification or a combination of education and/or experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing or insurance
• Ability to handle confidential data and understand medical terminology
• Competence in using office equipment and telephone systems
• No specific certification or professional license required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
• 2 years of post-secondary education
• Familiarity with collections strategies and effective communication skills
• Previous experience in a healthcare-related billing or insurance role
