Are you an experienced paediatric dietitian with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people and their families? Here's an exciting opportunity to be a part of our dynamic multi-professional team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals.
As a vital member of our team, you'll work closely with both outpatient and inpatient cases, providing crucial nutritional support to children, working in MDT clinics e.g. allergy, coeliac disease and cystic fibrosis. Your expertise in paediatrics will shine as you handle a diverse caseload with confidence and professionalism.
We're seeking a dietitian with a passion for paediatrics, with great communication skills and aim for clinical excellence.
You will have the privilege of working under the guidance of our clinical lead for paediatric dietetics, ensuring you receive valuable mentorship and support. Plus, you'll regularly engage with our exceptional dietetic team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
We will accept band 5 applicant who would like to work toward a band 6 and increase their knowledge, skills and experience in paediatric dietetics.

Person Specification Qualifications- Qualified Dietitian (4 year degree, post-graduate diploma or equivalent).
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Registered with the Health Professions Council.
- Relevant validated course.
- Member of BDA including specialist group.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including explaining, negotiating, motivating and training.
- Able to work as an integral member of dietetic and multiprofessional teams, building relationships with patients/carers, and other staff.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information and respond to people who are distressed or anxious.
- Able to overcome difficulties in communication, including language barriers, and adapt approach to varying situations.
- Able to overcome barriers to understanding.
- Able to interpret and evaluate complex information from a variety of sources using professional judgement to solve problems and make decisions where there are a range of options.
- Able to plan and organise own workload, including daily tasks and longer term strategic planning, despite interruptions and changing priorities.
- Able to plan and organise the work of allocated student dietitians.
- Able to carry out anthropometric measurements accurately and use relevant equipment.
- Able to use a computer keyboard and relevant computer programmes.
- Experience of working as a registered dietitian.
- Able to apply additional depth of knowledge gained through experience to specialist area.
- Experience of working in relevant specialist area/s.
- Able to make decisions within own work role guided by broad policies and guidelines, supported by team leader/clinical lead and multi-professional team.
- Able to travel to areas within and beyond the trust if required.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the service.
