The Medical Records Retrieval Specialist / Risk Adjustment Representative 2 travels to provider offices within the region and scans medical records into a secure system. The role ensures accurate and properly supported clinical documentation within the health record, following state and federal regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines while analyzing medical records.
Responsibilities- Travel up to 75% of the time, including driving to locations close to your home and up to a week of overnight travel.
- Use a laptop computer, portable scanner, and encrypted flash drive to retrieve medical records and upload them into a database.
- Schedule appointments and visits to physician offices in a timely, efficient manner to meet all deadlines.
- 1 or more years of provider office and/or medical office setting experience.
- 1 or more years of medical record and/or health information experience.
- Medical record retrieval experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications:
Word and Excel. - Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- 1 or more years of demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, including strong keyboard and navigation skills and ability to learn new computer programs.
- Valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance (100/300/100 limits) and passing a motor vehicle report check (part of the driver safety program).
- Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
- Monday‑Friday hours range between 7am‑5pm.
- Position requires 75% travel to provider offices.
We use Hire Vue technology for pre‑recorded voice interviews and SMS text interviews. Pre‑recorded voice interviews take approximately 10‑15 minutes, while SMS text interviews last about 5‑10 minutes. Successful candidates will be notified to proceed to the next interview round.
Work at Home Guidance- Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection recommended.
- Satellite, cellular, and microwave connection can be used only with leadership approval.
- Associates who live and work from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi‑weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate to meet business requirements.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect PHI / HIPAA information.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
- Pay Range: $40,000 - $52,300 per year (starting base pay; may vary by location, skills, and experience).
